Hey everyone, long time no talk!
I just wanted to jump on here and talk a little bit about an app that I use to sell my used clothing items that I don't have a need for anymore - it's called Poshmark. We all can admit that our closets are fuller than they should be, so why not sell some of your used clothing and accessories for some money (especially since school has started up again). All you have to do is download the app, take some pictures of the item you would like to sell, write a short description, and your item will soon be sold! Sounds easy, right? It certainly is.
Over the last year of actively using the app, I've cleaned out my closet and made room for tons of new stuff! If you decide to download the app, sign up using my code ASHLEYNICOLE98 and you'll get a $5 credit! Head over and give me a follow, @ashleynicole98.
If you would like me to start a series on how to make tons of sales on the app, let me know and I'll start posting!

Origins #MyPerfectWorld Campaign Products
Here in North Carolina, the
weather is weird right now, some days it’s almost 90 degrees and then the
next we have 30 mile per hour winds.
This weather constantly changing is doing no favors for my skin. Some days my skin feels oily, then the next
it feels as dry as a desert, which is why I was so happy to receive the Origins VoxBox from Influenster! The box consisted of five mini samples – the
perfect amount to see if the products work.
I always look tired – blame
my genetics and lack of sleep. I read
that this product reduces dark circles and after I tried it, I was amazed that
the bags under my eyes and the puffiness were almost completely gone and my
skin felt hydrated. Worth a try? Absolutely.
Don’t be confused; this is a
completely different product than the eye cream. They both have a citrusy scent, but this one
is lightweight, oil-free, and leaves your skin looking refreshed and feeling
great! As I mentioned, my skin is super
dry right now, so after using this, it was hydrated and had a gorgeous natural
glow!
I’ve always struggled with
my skin getting dry at night, and no matter which face cream I used, I would
wake up with oily skin and my face would start to break out. After using this night cream, my face felt
immediately hydrated and when I woke up the next morning, my skin was
absolutely radiant and moisturized, ready for the GinZing moisturizer!
Checks and Balances
I am always up to trying new face cleansers – no matter what I use, I always feel like my face isn’t completely clean. I think I’ve found the remedy for that. Checks and Balances by Origins was the perfect face wash for me, especially since I have both oily and dry skin. My face didn’t feel overly dried or too oily – it was juuuust right. I finally had that clean skin that I was looking for!

Out of the five products
that I was sent, this is the only product that I had already used. Last year I was on the hunt for the perfect
charcoal mask, and if you’ve looked for one, you know they’re hard to
find. I read some good reviews about the
Origins Clear Improvement and figured it was worth a shot. As soon as I used it, I could feel it
working; my face was tingling and I just knew that all of the impurities were
being removed – which they were. This mask
removed deep-pore cloggers and toxins. My
skin felt pure and clean – exactly what I was searching for! So when I got this sample size in my VoxBox, I
was so excited that I finally had a travel size!

9 Things to Keep in Your Desk at Work
You’ve all been there before – you’re at work (or internship) and the unthinkable happens: you realize you forgot to put deodorant on this morning. Now what do you do? Sit there and worry that you smell all day. As fun as that sounds, there are 9 things you can keep in your desk to avoid any catastrophes that might arise during your workday. So what if you have a ‘mom drawer’, it never hurts to be prepared!
- Band-Aids. Between new-heel blisters, paper cuts, or accidentally slicing your finger open with a scissor (definitely not speaking from experience…) Band-Aids are essential. You can find a cheap box of a variety of sizes at Wal-Mart or Target!
- Lint roller. If you have a pet, you understand this all too well. You remember that day when you went into work and wore black pants only to look down once you got to your desk and find your pet’s hair ALL OVER YOU? A lint roller would’ve been oh-so-handy.
- Mints/Gum. How many cups of coffee did you have?
- Painkillers. Headaches, cramps, and those heels you’re trying to break in…you never feel less productive than when you’re in pain, so buy a bottle of Ibuprofen and keep that in your drawer.
- Deodorant. Talk about a lifesaver. Sometimes you’re in a rush in the morning and that’s – of course – the one thing you forget to put on. Some days there’s a fire drill, and others you have a huuuuge presentation to the Vice President of your company. Trust me, a travel size deodorant is worth the investment.
- Non-perishable snacks. You know how at 3:00 P.M. your stomach starts to growl, you get a bit hangry, and you feel super unproductive? Having some snacks in your drawer to keep you going will be your lifesaver. Both your body and your coworkers will thank you.
- Baby wipes/disinfectant wipes. Do you ever rub your face while sitting at your desk and then touch a piece of paper and see all of those cute fingerprints on it? What about when your desk is dirty? When there’s a bug going around the office and it’s germ central? Clean everything with a disinfectant wipe and you’ll be good to go!
- Hand sanitizer. Aka my best friend. People make fun of me for having it in my makeup bag in my purse, one hanging on my purse, and having one on my desk, but I really try to avoid getting sick at all costs. Not only is it nice to have to protect you from office germs, it’s nice to have to clean your hands off right before lunch.
- Hair ties and bobby pins. We all have that one piece of hair that won’t behave. Don’t rummage through your purse for a nasty bobby pin; just pull one out of your desk and you’ll be good to go!
As
long as you have these 9 essentials, you’ll have the tools to face your own
emergencies and will be able to help your coworkers with theirs’ as well!

20 Problems Every Short Girl Has
If you're under 5'3" you understand all of these struggles.
- People love to pat you on the head.
- They love to call you "shorty."
- You want to reach the top shelf of a cabinet or shelf? LOL.
- Trying to find pants that aren't too long? Two words: good luck.
- Making out with a tall guy is a workout. Hello hurting calves and abs from balancing.
- Your shoulder is everyone else's arm rest.
- You're always called cute. No.
- If you're not in the front of photos, you're not in them at all.
- There are middle schoolers that are taller than you are. That shouldn't be allowed.
- Your feel never reach the floor at restaurants, on public transportation, or anywhere else for that matter. You know what that means? You can swing your feet like a five-year-old.
- When girls complain about being 5'6" you want to punch them in the face. I'd love those extra few inches.
- Cooking becomes a workout because you're constantly climbing on the counters.
- Imagine being able to wear maxi dresses. Just imagine it...
- Peepholes? You mean those things on doors that you can't see out of?
- It's funny watching people trying to sit in the driver's seat of your car because of how close you sit to the wheel. Have fun adjusting the seat for fifteen minutes.
- Hearing "oh wow, you're really short" all the time. Wow thank you, Captain Obvious, I wasn't aware of that.
- Wearing heels and you're still the shortest.
- Dealing with those annoying people who say "you're not short, you're fun-sized." NO.
- When you go into a five foot pool and all that sticks out of the water is the top of your head.
- You'll always be carded when you go out or buy alcohol.

15 Ways to Save Money in College
My change jar |
I've comprised a list of the best ways that I've found to save money while in college - some are extremely obvious, but some are actually pretty good things to start incorporating into your life. Even if you're not in college, incorporating these simple techniques will help anyone save money.
- Get a part-time job.
- When it comes to textbooks, rent them if you can. If you can't, then purchase them used - most used textbooks are more than 50% off and the best part? When you're done with the textbooks, you can sell them and get your money back.
- Use your dining plan if you have one at school. You're already paying for a dining plan, so why not use it? There's nothing wrong with the occasional Papa John's pizza, but there's no need to pay for a dining plan and take-out.
- Have a change jar and throw any change you get into that each night. Not only will your purse weigh less, it's a great way to save up a considerable amount of money and not even realize it.
- When you go food shopping, always go with a list and make sure you're not hungry. A list will assure you that you only buy what's on it and nothing more.
- Don't be afraid to ask places if they offer student discounts. (Article coming soon)
- Sell things that you don't want or need anymore for some extra cash.
- Make your own coffee. I'm one of those girls that goes to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts every morning, but I've started eating breakfast at home and have saved a ton of money.
- Save your receipts or keep track of how much money you're spending each month.
- Use coupons whenever possible.
- Buy generic brands of what you're buying. There's no need to pay $7.99 for Tylenol when the drugstore brand of the same thing is only $4.99.
- If you impulse buy, write down the item and the price and leave the store. Wait a week and see if you still want it, if you do and you can justify it, go ahead and buy it, but if not, then save your money.
- Take advantage of living on campus and not having to pay rent each month in addition to tuition.
- Keep applying for scholarships.
- The number one thing that I came up with that I started not too long ago was I give myself a budget every week. Each week I take out $50 from my bank account. I use that all week to buy things that I want or need and then at the end of the week, I put all of the extra money into a mason jar. At the end of the year, I'll transfer all of the change into my change jar and will deposit all of the bills back into my bank account. It'll be like newfound money.
I hope at least one of these tips helps you save some extra money! If you have any helpful money saving tips that I didn't cover in this article, leave it in the comments below!

College Move-In Day Tips!
Moving into college as a freshman seems like a daunting task - I went through it last year. I didn't know how I was going to set everything up, what my room looked like, or if I brought too much stuff with me. After I had moved in and was all settled, I composed a list of ten tips I would give to an incoming freshman (or anyone) for making their move-in day go smoothly.
- Be organized. The biggest thing I learned was to label all of my boxes because it'll save you the time and energy of having to go through five boxes looking for that one decoration that you can't find. Make sure you put like things together - I made a box for bathroom stuff/cosmetics, for decorations, kitchen supplies, bedding, and one for school supplies - and let me tell you, it made everything so simple.
- Wear something comfortable. There's nothing worse than being uncomfortable while moving furniture and boxes, so wear something that's comfortable, but that makes you feel good. The better you feel, the more confident you'll come across to your new peers.
- Unpack as soon as possible. No matter how excited you are to get your college life started, unpack first; you're not going to want to do it days from then. Getting everything unpacked will help you feel more settled and less stressed so you can focus on preparing for classes. Make sure your room looks homey and don't leave any empty boxes lying around.
- Let your parents help you. If your parents are anything like mine, they're going to want to help you as much as possible. As annoying as it may seem, they just want to help because they're just as stressed as you are, they're child is leaving home and going to be on their own. Let them fuss over you for the day and then when everything is settled, they'll leave. You'll be happy that you didn't kick them out right away and will appreciate the help that they were able to provide you with that day.
- Take a walk around campus. Once you're settled, take a walk around your new home to get acclimated to your new surroundings. You'll get an idea where the buildings are, what's around your dorm room, and you may meet other freshmen doing the same thing.
- Bring Lysol (or any disinfectant) with you. I know this might sound weird because the rooms are all cleaned, but you never know how many germs are still around. Wipe everything down and spray the Lysol to kill any remaining germs because you’d be surprised how many college students get sick their first week of school.
- Be on-time. This one is pretty self-explanatory; there is nothing worse than being late because then for the rest of the day - whether you are or not - you're going to feel rushed.
- Make sure you eat throughout the day. I didn't eat during move-in day because I was just so excited to move in and meet everyone - bad idea; by five thirty, I was about ready to pass out because I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. Learn from my mistake and eat, even if it's just a granola bar.
- Your room won't look like the one you pinned on Pinterest. I had my room all planned out on Pinterest, so when I finished decorating everything and it looked nothing like I had imagined, I was disappointed. Looking back, my room may not have looked like the one on Pinterest, but it was perfect for me.
- Enjoy the day! This may seem obvious, but many students are more stressed out by move-in day and forget that it's a happy day - it's the beginning of a new college year and if you're a freshman, it's the beginning of your college career - enjoy it!
